The Land Trust of Napa County Announces New Partnerships

April 25, 2011, Napa, CA — The Land Trust of Napa County is pleased to announce new partnerships with two leaders in the Napa Valley wine and hospitality industry. The Hess Collection winery and Bardessono Hotel, Restaurant and Spa have both partnered with the Land Trust of Napa County to promote land protection in the Napa Valley.

The Land Trust of Napa County received a $10,000 grant from The Hess Collection winery, generated by Hess’ participation in the 1% For The Planet environmental advocacy program. 1% For the Planet is a growing global movement of companies donating 1% of sales for local environmental programs. The Hess Collection is a long-time member, each year selecting worthy Napa organizations for support. http://www.hesscollection.com/

“We’re pleased this year to be a Land Trust program partner,” noted Gary Bulger, President of The Hess Collection. “Preserving, protecting and enhancing the environment is a goal best shared with young people who will be guiding the future.”

In an effort to protect the open-space of Napa Valley, Bardessono Hotel, Restaurant and Spa is offering their “Hike the Day Away“ package. This new package includes two annual memberships to the Napa Valley Land Trust and overnight accommodations in a luxury King Spa suite. In addition to supporting the Trust, the “Hike Away the Day” membership includes hiking access to land not accessible to the general public. This package encourages guests to get out and enjoy the unparalleled natural beauty right in Bardessono’s backyard. http://www.bardessono.com

“We are thrilled to partner with The Hess Collection and Bardessono Hotel, Restaurant and Spa, and applaud their efforts on behalf of the Land Trust,” stated Joel Tramner, Chief Executive Officer of the Land Trust of Napa County. “Both The Hess Collection and Bardessono have shown a common philosophy of honoring our land and limited resources. We look forward to working together to continue to preserve the natural beauty of the Napa Valley.”

About Land Trust of Napa County:

Land Trust of Napa County is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving the character of Napa by permanently protecting land. Established in 1976 by seven founding members, today the Land Trust has 1,700 active members and supporters. In our 35-year history, the Land Trust has completed over 150 projects, protecting more than 53,000 acres of land, approximately 10% of Napa County. http://napalandtrust.org/

About The Hess Collection:

As the first of the Hess Family Estates wineries, The Hess Collection Winery was founded by Donald Hess over a quarter century ago. True to his vision of what a New World wine should be, Mr. Hess established his winery on the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder in the Napa Valley and defined a whole new approach to winemaking. Along with its mountain vineyards, the winery has won acclaim for its other estate vineyards in the northeast and southern ends of the Napa Valley and has been recognized for its successful relationships with family-owned growers who represent some of the finest appellations in California. The Hess Collection Winery produces three tiers of wines and has distinguished itself as a premium producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. http://www.hesscollection.com/

About Bardessono:

The Bardessono opened in February 2009 with 62 guest rooms, restaurant and spa in Yountville, California, the heart of the Napa Valley. We pledge to care for an uncommon set of priorities: for the environment, for each other, for our guests, for the property and for the community nearby. Together, these priorities represent a vision for unprecedented and attentive service. http://www.bardessono.com/
