Volunteer
Volunteers play a pivotal role with the daily operations of the Land Trust. In fact, over 250 individuals donate over 2,000 hours annually to lead field trips, monitor properties, steward and maintain preserves and raise funds. For most committees there are no specific skills needed other than enthusiasm for learning what we do. Check our volunteer needs below and let us know where you would like to help out.
Field Trip Committee
Every year, the Field Trip Committee leads 42 hikes throughout Napa County. Leaders of all ability levels are needed to help lead hikes. No prior knowledge of hiking areas is necessary -just a love of the outdoors and hiking. For more information contact Committee Chair Chip Bouril or Land Project Manager Lena Septimo.
Preserve Stewardship Opportunities
Please join us! Stewardship events are a lot of fun and are excellent opportunities to learn about the unique ecosystems that the Land Trust is working to protect. LTNC’s volunteer team welcomes all new participants to join us anytime. Stewardship events are offered throughout the year across the Land Trust’s preserve network. Projects include invasive species removal, native habitat restoration, and trail maintenance. Be prepared for work days with gloves, sturdy close-toed shoes, long sleeves and long pants, water, and layers appropriate for any type of weather. Event leaders will provide information on location details and other logistics once you’ve signed up. LTNC is hosting second Friday workdays each month throughout the Preserve Network this Spring/Summer.

Archer Taylor Preserve
The Archer Taylor Preserve offers opportunities every Saturday for stewardship volunteers to work on new and existing trails, invasive plants, road maintenance, and similar projects. Join us for work (8:15am-12:30pm) followed by bring-your-own lunch in the cool shade of the redwoods or the sunny orchard. Tools and gloves provided. You can hike in the afternoon.
